Iconic Restaurants You Grew Up With And No Longer Exist
Naugles, 1970-1995
Founded by Dick Naugle, the first restaurant was opened in California in 1970. Only based on three restaurants, Harold Butler bought the chain, and later they merged with Del Taco in 1988. Some items of the Naugles menu could also be seen in the Del Taco menu. Ultimately, all the Naugles locations at various places were converted to other restaurants with no Naughles’ location remaining by 1995. Though, the chain was revived by an entrepreneur Christian Ziebarth in the summer of 2015 at Huntington Beach as Del Taco had abandoned the trademarks of Naugles.
