While keeping the scenario of Philadelphia in mind, the health officials asked the private business to avoid conducting sales. The only purpose of this action was to keep people from making these places crowded. Yeah, it stopped the sales of the businesses for some time, but it also gave them protection against the Spanish flu.
In New York, the storekeepers were asked to change their business hours so that the excessive crowd can be avoided. This helped a lot in keeping the public in safe hands against the Spanish flu. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, all types of business stores have been closed all over the world.
