Burger Chef, 1954-1996

If you have ever thought that the most significant competitors of McDonald’s would have been Burger King of KFC, you are not so right! The food chain that had given McDonald’s a neck to competition back then, was Burger Chef. Began in 1954, Burger Chef grew over 1,200 branches quickly, which made the chain a close competitor of McDonald’s. Also, they were the pioneer of giving toys in a happy meal. The increasing quantity of locations could not maintain the same quality, and Burger Chef had to be sold to Hardee’s.
